Join us for Pandemaniacs! This outdoor program will have 5 "pods" of kids with their counselors all on Stone Field. Activities will include science, arts & crafts, pool noodle tag, freeze dance, red light - green light, simon says, relay races, and other physical activities that will allow us to be mindful of social distancing. Please pack a refillable water bottle a snack each day for your child. Group pods will not be able to interact together and kids within each pod will need to exercise social distancing. Participants of the Pandemaniacs program will not visit the pools, splash pad, playground, or library.

Due to limited capacity, our Pandemaniacs 2020 Program will be for Walpole Residents Only. This year's summer day program will look different due to the Guidelines released by the State of Massachusetts. We are no longer able to offer Little Rec'ers or Walpole Woods for Summer 2020. Pandemaniacs will be the only summer day program we offer.

Pandemaniacs will be offered for children ages 4 to 11 and will take place fully outdoors (on Stone Field). Due to the strict state regulations of toddler care - our department will not be able to accommodate 2 & 3 year olds for Summer 2020.  Per State Guidelines, Pandemaniacs will not visit any playgrounds, pools, splash pads, or the library.

Pandemaniacs will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no afternoon offerings. Unlike our previous summer programs, you must register for the full week of the program. This is to ensure consistency in group "pods" to minimize the circle of contact tracing in the event a staff member or participant presents COVID-19 symptoms.

In the event of inclement weather, the group pods will be brought indoors to Blackburn Hall for stationary activities. Each participant indoors will have a 6ft x 6ft square of space from other children. Each pod will be kept 20 feet away (at minimum per state Guidelines) from another pod at all times. In the event social distancing is not possible, participants will be required to wear masks. Masks must also be worn during location changes or trips to the restroom.

Hand washing, hand sanitizing, and surface sanitizing will be done frequently. Group Pods (not to exceed 12 people including staff) will never share sports equipment, toys, or arts and craft supplies. 4 & 5 year olds will be in two smaller "mini" groups. Activities that do not require close contact between pod members will be the focus of our daily activity planning.

  • Parents will not leave their cars for drop-off/check-in

  • Program Directors will conduct a health questionnaire & temperature check of your child  participating in Pandemaniacs prior to your child exiting the vehicle.

  • Children will be required to wear a mask as they exit the vehicle and are brought to their group location on Stone Field. Masks will be required until check-in is complete.

  • In the event a child presents a temperature of 100.4 or higher or symptoms of COVID-19, they will not be allowed to attend the program that day.

  • Participants may not return until they have been fever/symptom free for a full 48 hours.
