Group Piano Lessons
A Group Piano Class is an exciting introduction to piano and music skills for beginning level music students. The goal of the course is not only to develop a solid musical foundation in piano, but most importantly to instill in the student a genuine love and appreciation for music. A group atmosphere is often more beneficial and enjoyable for beginning level students because they are motivated by their peers, but are also allowed to progress at their own rate. Basic piano skills, such as proper hand positions, posture, note reading, and technique, will be taught. Students will learn how to play age appropriate music step by step. They will learn to listen to each other while playing, developing of a better sense of rhythm and tempo.
No previous experience is required. If you don't have a keyboard at home, you can rent one from the Ivy Music Academy for an additional fee.

Guitar Lessons (Beginner)
This class is an introduction to guitar playing. We will begin by studying both the names of the notes on each string and the basic open position chords. Basic improvisation and use of the capo are also covered. This class is suitable for the absolute beginner. Please provide your own guitar for the lessons.

Essential rhythm and lead guitar techniques are explored, focusing on Blues, Jazz, Rock and Classical styles. Other styles covered are Country, Pop, Folk, Flamenco and Heavy Metal.
This class is suitable for students who already have a strong working knowledge of basic open position chords. The instruments will be provided by Ivy Music Academy at no additional cost.
